Jittima Pholsawek

Jittima Pholsawek works as a writer (feature writing, short stories and poems). She is also a producer for TV documentary programmes. She began working intensively on various art forms, including still photography, mixed media, and performance art since 1991. She is one of the artists who initiated the Woman Art Exhibition – ‘Tradisexion’ which has then been developed to ‘Womanifesto’, the International Women Art Festival. Jittima has established the ‘Community Art Project’, focusing on working with local communities in order to expose the social, environmental and cultural dimensions of the local communities, especially in the areas where the maga development projects are proposed and the communities are being threatened by the changes. Being as an artist and writer, her works on both fields always convey similar contents, which reflect on human inequality, exploitation, cultural hegemony, and the colonialism of natural resources.
