Edwin’s Gallery is one of the oldest commercial galleries in Jakarta that emerge during the market boom around the late 80’s. The galleries have been acknowledged to exhibited several big names in Indonesian art scene. Though most of their projects are commercials, we had a chance to bring Field Trip Projects Asia to be shown. Personally, I feel this could be a good way to expose the project to different audiences and brings a lot of feelings together. The exhibition in Edwin’s Gallery is subtitled as “Departure Edition” since all of the bags will fly to Hongkong. Also, because of some customs problem, we cannot be shown all of the bags at the first exhibition at Gudang Sarinah at first. The Exhibition periods start from 1st until 9th April 2017. The overall reaction from the visitors is quite surprising, some were expected to buy and collect the artworks. The atmosphere of the gallery and the fine presentation from some artworks might have a different impression on the audience. However, we would like to send the logical reason and concept behind this projects and choose to sit down and talk for a moment with them, and that’s when we decide to put a panel discussion on the last day of the exhibition to talk about current situations that happened in Jakarta to find a meaningful connection to what happens in every other place.
