October 26- 28, 2015
Before artist-collaborators touch down in Leyte, co-curators Daisuke Takeya and Laya Boquiren first traveled to Baguio City to collaborate with Baguio-based artist-teacher Jhoan Medrano. Together with her students at the University of the Philippines, they walked around sites that were once damaged by the Great Earthquake of Northern Luzon in 1991 as well as spaces in danger of being replaced by high rise condominiums and shopping malls. They were joined by civil society groups concerned about the environment. The Baguio stint includes Baguio-based artist Jason Domling and Manila-based artist Aze Ong. The itinerary included talks/fellowship evenings with local artists at Cafe Yagam with the support of the Cordillera Green Network (CGN).
